The barn captures the era when building construction transitioned from traditional construction to modern methods.
Buildings tell the story of the people that came before us. When we remove buildings we eliminate the chance to experience and learn from the past.
The barn has been boarded up to deter people from entering the abandoned structure. These photographs have been supplied by Carlisle’s Building Commissioner and the Carlisle Historic Society who explored the interior of the building in 2022 and 2023. The quality of the photographs is limited due to the limited lighting.
