Transition Space Design is led by Deborah Bentley RIBA, a Scot who is passionate about architecture, culture, and sustainability.
Deborah gained a B.Arch. from the Mackintosh School of Architecture at Glasgow University / Glasgow School of Art, Scotland, and a Dip. Arch. (M. Arch) from the University of the Creative Arts in England. She is a registered architect in the United Kingdom and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
She has designed urban places and buildings with Pollard Thomas and Edwards Architects and Greenberg+ Hawkes in London, UK, The Classic Group and John Battle Architects in Massachusetts, USA, She established Transition Space Design in Carlisle Massachusetts in 2015.
A substantial number of her clients are repeat clients many of whom she now considers friends.
Projects Deborah has been involved with have won Europa Nostra Award, Civic Trust Award and RIBA Regional Award, as well as the Boston Globe Residential Award. Her architectural projects, paintings and photography has been featured in exhibitions in London including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Boston, and Venice Biennale 2014.
She has been involved in community art projects in the town of Carlisle since 2018.
