MEMORIAL DAY POPPY PROJECT

Carlisle Poppy Project

2018 marked the centenary of World War One. Though out that year Deborah led a nine month long community project handcrafting more than 3,500 poppies to be displayed in the Town Center as a remembrance to those that fell. The display was then moved to the cemetery where the ribbon of poppies connected all the WWI Veterans. The poppies display was so popular that it returns to the town common every year for Memorial Day, with a different display.
